Creating multiple teams

In an agency setting or whenever an organization is developing and managing designs for multiple brands, it makes the most sense to create separate teams for each brand. Each team can have one Brand Kit (a set of color palettes, uploaded fonts, and logos).

Creating multiple teams will also work for organizations with different franchises, branches or departments with varying brand assets. This allows you to create multiple Brand Kits, Team Templates, and designs associated with specific brands, letting you manage multiple teams and brands from one Canva account.

note: Ensure you are accessing team features on a desktop browser as these are not yet available on mobile apps.

To create a new team:

  1. From the homepage, click on the arrow beside your name.
  2. Select Account Settings.
  3. Click on the Billings & Teams tab.
  4. Scroll to the bottom portion of the Billings & Teams tab and click on +Create a new team.
  5. A prompt will appear and click on the Create your team button to proceed.
  6. You will be redirected to your new team homepage. If you do not wish to upgrade your newly created free team to a Canva for Work team, click on the X button to close the prompt.

Creating a new team using this method will use the same team name as your original team. You are free to rename your new team by going to the Team members page and by clicking on the team title.

You can view all the teams you’ve created and then access them by clicking on the drop-down menu next to your team or profile name. To learn more about this, you can check out our article about switching between teams.
