Present your design

Is it time to pitch your sales presentation to clients? Perhaps you want to display your designs on a projector to show your social media mockup posts? Presentation mode allows you to showcase your designs in full-screen mode.

There are two ways to share your design as a presentation, depending on which version of the editor you’re using. Head over to our article about Canva 1.0 and 2.0 to find out which version you’re using.

Activate presentation mode (Canva 2.0)


Your Canva design can expand to fill your entire screen with Presentation mode.

To activate presentation mode in Canva 2.0:

  1. Click Publish at the top of the editor.
  2. Select the Present option.
  3. Choose how you’d like to display the presentation in the Timing dropdown.
  4. Click Preview presentation or 
  5. Click Present. If you have premium elements in your design click Pay and Present.

To activate presentation mode in Canva 1.0:

  1. Click the presentation button next to the zoom settings or
  2. Easily activate presentation mode by pressing the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Enter for both Mac and Windows.

You can navigate through your presentation by clicking on the left and right arrows on the control menu if you have a multi-page design. Alternatively, you can press your keyboard’s left and right arrow keys to navigate between slides.

To exit presentation mode, click the Exit presentation button on the control menu or press the Esc button on your keyboard.

Embed a YouTube video (Canva 2.0)


You can also add and play YouTube videos in presentation mode.

To embed a video to the presentation:

  1. Select the element that you’d like to use as your video’s play button.
  2. Click the Link button in the right of the toolbar.
  3. Paste the YouTube link in the hyperlink field.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Enter presentation mode and check that the link works by clicking the element.

Embed a webpage (Canva 2.0)


To embed a webpage to an element in a presentation:

  1. Select the element that you’d like to use as the link button.
  2. Click the Link button in the right of the toolbar.
  3. Paste the website link in the hyperlink field.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Enter presentation mode and check that the link works by clicking the element.

Presenter view (Canva 2.0)


When you’re ready to present, you can enter presenter view. This gives you a separate screen where you can view notes on your presentation as you speak to your audience.

Add notes to your design

Notes can be added to your presentation as you’re editing.

To add notes:

  1. Click the page number above the page you need to add notes to.
  2. Select Add notes.
  3. Enter your message and click Save.
  4. Click anywhere on the page to continue designing.

Enter presenter view

  1. Click Publish in the top of the editor.
  2. Select Present.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up and tick the box for Presenter view.
  4. Click Present.
  5. Two screens will open, one with presenter’s view and one for your presentation.
  6. To exit presenter’s view, press Escape on your keyboard or close the presentation screen.
