Share to other social media

You can share your designs directly to social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedInPinterest, or Tumblr. To share your design to other social media platforms, like Instagram, you can download your design then upload it to your chosen platform.

There are a number of ways to share your designs to other social media platforms, depending on your Canva editor version. Head over to our article about Canva 1.0 and 2.0 to find out which version you are using.

Share to other social media (Canva 2.0)


To share your designs to other social media platforms in Canva 2.0:

  1. Click the Download button to save the design to your computer or device.
  2. Choose the file type JPG or PNG.
  3. Click Download.
  4. Purchase premium elements if you have any in your design.
  5. Click Pay and Download or Download.
  6. Open the social media platform of your choice.
  7. Upload the final image from your downloads folder to share on social media.

tip: The Canva apps for Android, iPhone, or iPad make sharing on social media platforms that only allow mobile uploading (eg. Instagram) easier.

To share your designs to other social media platforms in Canva 1.0:

  1. Click the Download button to save the design to your computer or device.
  2. Choose the file type JPG or PNG.
  3. Click Download.
  4. Purchase premium elements if you have any in your design.
  5. Click Purchase and download or Download.
  6. Open the social media platform of your choice.
  7. Upload the final image from your downloads folder to share on social media.
