Print your Canva design

To print your Canva design using a home or office printer, you first need to save and download it to your computer. Once your design has been downloaded, you can print it with your printer.

note: For the best results, use Canva Print to have your designs professionally printed and delivered straight to your doorstep. To know more about Canva Print, click here.

Download your design

  1. Click on the Download or the white down arrow button (found between the Share and Publish buttons) in the editor’s menu bar.
  2. Choose PDF Print in the File type drop-down.
  3. Click Download. If your design has premium elements, you will need to pay for them before you download.

Print your design

To print your Canva design:

  1. Open the PDF document you wish to print. It will open on a new browser tab or on your default PDF reader program.
  2. Look for the Print button (usually a printer icon) and click on it. You can also press on Ctrl  + P  (for Windows) or Command + P (for Mac) on your keyboard.
  3. Select the printer model.
  4. Adjust and review your printer settings. Set your printer settings to a “100%” scale to ensure your designs will print at the intended size.
  5. Click Print.

Different printer models have different settings so there are many ways to customize them. It greatly helps if you familiarize yourself on the brand and model of your printer.

note: Make sure that your computer is connected to a printer and has a printer driver installed in its systems. If you’re not sure your computer has an installed printer, you can check in your Control Panel (for Windows) or System Preferences (for Mac). If you’re using an office computer, please contact your IT personnel for assistance.

Print multiple copies of your design on one page

Printing multiple copies of your design on one page is usually done for designs that are smaller than an A4 or Letter sized paper, such as business cards or invitations.

To do it, you first have to identify if it’s possible with the program you’re using to open your PDF. PDF reader programs, that allow printing multiple copies of your design on one page, will usually show the option on the printer settings.

To print multiple copies of your design on one page:

  1. Open the PDF of the design you wish to print.
  2. Click on the Printer icon or press Ctrl   P  (for Windows) or  Command  +  P  (for Mac) on your keyboard.
  3. Look for the “Copies per page” option and select a number.
  4. Click Print.

note: Not all programs and printers allow printing of multiple copies on one page. If you still wish to do this, you have to find a different program that will allow you to do so. Furthermore, using the multiple copies option cannot guarantee that the original dimension of the design will be followed.

Print double-sided

Printing double-sided or duplex printing can be done in two ways: automatically or manually.

For automatic double-sided printing, you first have to check if your printer supports it or not. If your printer supports double-sided printing here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the PDF of the design you wish to print.
  2. Click on the Printer icon or press Ctrl   P  (for Windows) or  Command  +  P  (for Mac) on your keyboard.
  3. In your printer settings, look for the “Double-sided”, “Duplex printing”, or “Two-sided” option and activate it.
  4. Click Print.

If your printer does not support automatic double-sided printing, you can still do it manually. Here are the instructions to do it:

  1. Open the PDF of the design you wish to print.
  2. Click on the Printer icon or press Ctrl   P  (for Windows) or  Command  +  P  (for Mac) on your keyboard.
  3. If your design has multiple pages, print all odd pages first.
  4. Take the printed pages and put it back on the paper feed. Make sure you place the paper facing the correct side depending on your printer model.
  5. Print all even pages.
