Using Canva to design a Snapchat Geofilter

Geofilters are special overlays you can apply to photos or videos on Snapchat, tailored to feature a specific place or event during a period of time.

As per section 4i of our license agreement, you cannot use any Canva elements in your Snapchat Geofilter designs aside from basic shapes, lines, free fonts, and the elements included in our pre-made geofilter layouts. You are, however, welcome to use your own uploaded elements to create your snapchat geofilters.

note: Images sourced from the internet belong to their copyright holders, and cannot be used without their permission.

Snapchat geofilters should be saved in PNG format as this format allows transparent backgrounds. Exporting a PNG with a transparent background is currently an exclusive feature for Canva for Work accounts. Free accounts do not have the option to export transparent PNGs.
