Getting Started: Publish your designs anywhere

Once you’re happy with your newly created design, you are now ready to share it with your intended audience. You will also have the option to save it to your computer or have it printed professionally.

In this article, we’ll discuss how to:

Save your design to your computer

If you wish to save a copy of your design to your computer, click on the Download button from the status bar and then select the file type you’d like to save it as.

Designs can be exported from Canva in a range of formats including PDF, PNG, JPEG and more. To know which format is best suited for your needs, you can refer to our article about downloading the right file type.

Your file will automatically save in your designated Downloads folder on your computer.

Publish your design on social media

If you wish to share your designs to other social media platforms like Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr and others, you can still do so by saving the design to your computer first. To do so:

  1. Click the Download button to save the design to your computer or device. The recommended file format is JPG or PNG.
  2. Purchase premium elements if you have any in your design.
  3. Open the social media platform of your choice from your web browser.
  4. Upload the final image.
note: If you wish to upload your designs to Instagram or other apps that only allow mobile app uploads, using Canva’s iPhone or Android apps can make the process easier.

Share your design via email

You can also share your designs over email. We make it easy to share your design with anyone who has an email address since there’s no need to attach or upload anything.

To share your design via email:

  1. Click the Share button from the status bar. The Share this design dialog box will appear.
  2. Type in the email address/es you wish to share your design with. You can separate email addresses with a comma.
  3. Change design accessibility by toggling the drop-down arrow and choose between Can edit or Can view.
  4. Click Done.
note: Don’t want the people who you’re sharing your designs with to make any changes? Simply change the accessibility to Can view.

After processing your design, the people whose email addresses you entered will receive an email from Canva in their inbox together with a link to check out your design. If they have a Canva account, they’ll be able to like and comment on your design.

Use the presentation mode

If you’ve made a presentation, the best way to present your slides is by using Presentation mode. This eliminates the need to download your presentation or open it to other programs.

To activate presentation mode, click on the presentation button next to the zoom settings found in the bottom right corner of the editor. You can also easily activate presentation mode by pressing the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Enter for both Mac and Windows.

You can navigate through your presentation by clicking on the left and right arrows on the control menu if you have a multi-page design. Alternatively, you can press your keyboard’s left and right arrow keys to navigate between slides.

note: You can also present your design as an interactive website. To know how to do it, you can refer to our article discussing how to share your designs as a website.

Order professional prints

Another way to share your designs to the world is by having them professionally printed. If you’d like to take your designs out in the real world, we have the solution for you in the form of Canva Print.

Canva Print allows send your designs to print straight from the app and have them delivered straight to your doorstep.
