In Canva, premium elements are layered with watermarks – a criss-cross pattern superimposed on top of images to protect the element’s copyright holder. You have the option to remove these watermarks while on the editor or in Presentation mode by using the Remove watermark feature.
Here’s how to use this feature:
- On the editor, select the premium element with the watermark you’d like to remove.
- Click the Remove watermark button on the lower right corner of the element.
- A popup will prompt you to purchase the element under a Multi-use or Extended license. Select the license you wish to purchase.
- Choose your payment option between using a credit card or your remaining Canva Credits if previously availed.
- Click Purchase.
You can find elements purchased through the Remove watermark button in the Purchased folder of the editor’s Uploads tab.
Watermarks on free Canva for Work content
If you’re a Canva for Work subscriber, you can exclusively use some premium elements for free under the One-time use license. However, you may notice the presence of watermarks on element thumbnails or on design previews.
Rest assured, when you use these elements or open your designs, these watermarks shouldn’t be visible anymore. You shouldn’t be prompted to pay upon downloading as well.
