Remove watermarks by downloading
In Canva, premium elements are layered with watermarks – a criss-cross pattern superimposed on top of images to protect the element’s copyright holder.
This article discusses how to remove watermarks by downloading the design. If you wish to know how to use the Remove watermark button that appears on the editor, kindly refer to our dedicated article about it.
Removing watermarks as a standard user
Premium elements have a $1 USD tag on its lower right corner. When you add paid elements to your design, the Canva watermark will be imposed on top of the image. You can remove the watermark only after purchasing the element.
To download the design and remove watermarks:
- Click the Download button.
- Choose whether you want to purchase an image under the One-time use, Multi-use, or Extended License.
- Purchase and Download your design.
Removing watermarks as a Canva for Work user
As a Canva for Work user, you will have access to several premium elements for free. They will have a FREE tag on its lower right corner but will appear to have a watermark in the design. Under the One-time use license, you can remove the watermark only after downloading the design with no additional cost.
To make sure the element is free, you can check out our Free Canva for Work content article.
