Sharing designs with your team

With Canva, collaborating with your colleagues is easy. Anyone from your team can share their design and allow other members to like or leave comments.

There are a number of ways to share your designs. Choosing the best method, depends on who you would like to share with. Below are some of the most common scenarios.

note: Ensure you are doing this on a desktop browser. At the moment, Team features are not accessible on mobile apps.

Sharing designs with your whole team

To share a design with your whole team, simply:

  1. Toggle the Show team button.
  2. Ensure show team has been toggled.
  3. Click Save changes.

Any designs that have been shared with you in this way, can be found in the Shared with you tab on the homepage. When others click on the designs in this folder, they will have the option to “remix” them, allowing them to create variations of your design without altering the original.

Sharing design folders

Design folders are ideal for sharing designs with a select number of people on your team. Simply add designs to your folder and nominate who you would like to view or edit the designs within.

note: Free teams can create a maximum of 2 design folders. On the other hand, Canva for Work teams can create an unlimited number of design folders.

To share designs using folders:

  1. Create a design folder by clicking on Add new folder from your homepage’s side panel.
  2. Rename your design folder by typing in the name of your choice.
  3. From the All your designs tab, drag the designs you wish to share to the folder.
  4. Click on the design folder to open it and then on Share.
  5. In the drop-down on your team’s row choose the Can edit or Can view option.
  6. Click Save changes.

If you only wish to share the folder to select members of the team, you can type and select their names on the Share with a team member box above the Save changes button.

Sharing designs with one person

Share designs with individuals who are not on your team through the Share tab. You can also nominate if the recipient of the design can edit or only view your design.

note: Make sure the person you’re sharing the design to has a Canva account. Only users with Canva accounts can edit shared designs.
