Something's not working

Hyperlinks can be added to your Canva design to connect to web pages, blogs, social media pages, YouTube videos and other resources on the internet. This gives it extra value and is particularly useful when using the Presentation Mode, or downloading the design as a PDF.

Adding a hyperlink

To add a hyperlink to your design:

  1. Click on the element you want to turn into a hyperlink.
  2. Click on the link icon in the editor toolbar.
  3. Type or paste the link of the website or content.
  4. Click the Apply button to save the link.
  5. To change the hyperlink in an element, repeat the steps above and replace the previous link with the new one.

note: Only one hyperlink can be added to one element at a time, and support for links with  “mailto:” is not yet available. Also, hyperlinks are active only on PDF file formats and when the design is in Presentation mode.

Removing a hyperlink

If you wish to remove a hyperlink from your design, follow these steps to remove it:

  1. Click on the element with a hyperlink.
  2. Click on the link icon in the editor toolbar.
  3. Erase the link in the link box.
  4. Click Apply to save the changes.

Hyperlinks on social media designs

The universal formats of JPG and PNG files do not support hyperlinks. Choosing these file options on download will bring up a reminder that the links will not work when they are uploaded to social media platforms.
