Unable to connect to FTP
If you are unable to connect to FTP, there are various reason why this can happen.
- You don’t have an approved contributor account yet. If you haven’t received an email from Canva with your Brand ID and instructions on uploading, get in touch with us to see whether your account is ready.
- You may be using the wrong login details. Refer to our guide on Setting up FTP and ensure you’re using your Canva username, not your email address and not your brand ID or brand name.
- You may have multiple brands. By default, you have one. However, if you’ve asked us to establish multiple Contributor Brands to separate content with different owners, you’ll need to specify which brand you want to upload to. You do this by adding the brand to your FTP login username in this format: [username]+[brandname]
- On rare occasions, we disable your FTP account if you’ve uploaded too many files without unique filenames. Files with the same filename overwrite in Canva so you need to use a unique file naming convention or upload into folders to avoid overwriting. If you believe this is the case, check your email as we would’ve notified you about the deactivation. Instructions on how to reactivate are in the email.
