Setting up FTP

To start uploading your files through File Transfer Protocol (FTP), you must first set it up. To do so:

  1. Download and Install an FTP program. We recommend Filezilla, but there are many free options available.
  2. Launch the FTP program.
  3. Enter the server address (ftp.canva.com) and the port number (21).
  4. Enter your Canva username (not your contributor brand) and password.
  5. Click Connect.

Once connected, you’ll see one window showing your local computer (local site) which is usually on the left. The other window (remote site), usually on the right, is our FTP server showing the root directory folder for your account.

Drag the files you want to upload from the window of your computer to the window of our FTP server. The files will start uploading. You can drag in folders too and Canva will accept whatever folder structure you use. However, don’t put files into the “_processing folder” since it shows you which files have been received.
