FTP Troubleshooting

Log in issues

If you log into the FTP with your Canva email address instead of your username or if you have multiple brands and forgot to add your brand name after the username, you would most probably experience an error.

You can check your brand username by logging into Canva with your contributor account, then go to the Profile tab in your Account Settings

Canva’s FTP server:

Server: ftp.canva.com
Port: 21
Username: [your Canva username]
Password: [your Canva password]

You can look up and change your username in the Settings of the Canva website.

Problems in uploading files

Cyberduck is the only FTP client that does not work well with our servers. You’ll need to use another FTP client to upload to Canva.

Make sure that you upload your files to the root directory of your FTP account. Your files will not go through if you try to upload them to the _processing or _processed folders.

Files stuck in review for a long time

After submitting your files for review, it might take a while before they appear on the website. This is because review times may vary depending on the number of files uploaded within the day.

If your images have been in review for several weeks, send us a quick note and we’ll take a look. Sometimes, things get stuck and they need a little shake to get going again.

For contributors with multiple brands

If you have multiple contributor brands on Canva – you’ll know if this is the case – be sure to specify which brand’s FTP account you wish to access in your login username in this format:

Canva FTP Username:  [username]+[brandname]
