Using team templates
At Canva, we aim to make design quicker and easier for everyone, especially non-designers. One of the ways we do that for our Canva for Work users is letting them convert their designs into re-usable templates for them, and other members of their team, to use regularly.
The great benefit of being able to convert designs into re-usable team templates is that it can save a LOT of design time if your team is creating heaps of similar designs. For example, a real estate agency that creates brochures for every new home listing can just save one brochure as a team template, which can then be reused and customized for every new home listing.
Team templates also guarantee that any designs made by your team are consistent. Having a brochure template set for your team to customize will mean that the same colors, fonts and style are used every time the template is reused. Unless you’re a professional designer, achieving this level of consistency each time you come to design something from scratch is extremely difficult, so reusable templates can empower your team to design like professional designers.
Follow these steps to save one of your designs as a team template in Canva for Work:
- Create a new design in Canva like you would normally.
- When you’ve finalized your design, click on the Show Team slider on the top right-hand corner of your editor.
- Turn the Publish as Template toggle on.
- Click on the Save Changes button. Your new template will be pushed to your Team Templates.
