Free Canva for Work content

Availing a Canva for Work subscription bundle enables you to search and use more images for free. All images, which are free under the Canva for Work subscription, can be identified with a “Free” label with a crown icon on their thumbnails.

note: This article discusses an exclusive Canva for Work feature. If you are a standard Canva user, you can check out our other article about free content for all.

Apply search filter for free content

Aside from doing a normal search using keywords and then browsing for photos with the “Free” label, as a Canva for Work subscriber, there is also another way to search for exclusive free content. This is done by filtering search results.

To search for free content only:

  1. Click on the Elements tab.
  2. Click on the search field and select Apply a search filter.
  3. Click on the drop-down button and select Free.
  4. Enter a keyword. This pulls up all relevant results for your search. All search results should be marked as “Free” or “Free” with a crown icon.
  5. Narrow down your search results by clicking on the Photos or Graphics tabs found beneath the search bar.

Using watermarked free content

If you are browsing through your “Free” search results, there’s a chance that you will encounter watermarked thumbnails.

These watermarked content are actually premium elements that were made exclusively free for Canva for Work subscribers under a One-time use license. This is also part of the Images Pro bundle which is available to your Canva for Work subscription.

To ensure these premium elements are free under your Canva for Work subscription:

  1. Hover your mouse cursor over the element you’d like to use.
  2. Click on •••  to load the media details.
  3. Look for the “Free for Canva for Work” detail.

All free premium elements for Canva for Work subscribers should have this detail. Rest assured, when you place these elements on your design, the watermark should not be visible nor will you be prompted to pay upon download.

note: If you were prompted to pay upon downloading the design, it might be possible that you used a premium element that was not free for Canva for Work subscribers or you’re trying to purchase it under a Multi-use or Extended license.
