Edit brand colors

Colors are an important part of one’s brand identity. It evokes emotion and easier recall, making a brand more recognizable and familiar to its audience.

Brand redesigning is not uncommon and colors are elements that can be affected by changes. If your brand colors have been changed, you can edit the colors in your brand kit to reflect these. As a team owner, administrator, or template designer, you can remove current colors, add new ones, or change existing colors.

note: Ensure you’re accessing Brand Kit features on a desktop browser since these are not yet available on mobile.

Adding new colors to your brand

  1. Click on the Your brand tab on the homepage.
  2. Click on the Brand Kit tab.
  3. In the Color Palettes module, click on the plus (+) button.
  4. Select a new color from the color wheel by moving your mouse across it. You can also enter the color code in the field at the bottom of the color editor.

Canva for Work teams can add a maximum of 20 color palettes with up to 36 colors per Brand Kit. On the other hand, free teams can add 1 color palette with up to 3 colors only per Brand Kit.

Editing an existing color

  1. In the Color Palettes module under the Brand Kit tab, click on the color you want to change.
  2. Select a new color from the color wheel or enter the color code in the field at the bottom of the color editor

note: Canva works with RGB hex codes. Use this converter if you have CMYK codes and this site for Pantone.

Removing a color

  1. Click on the Your brand tab on the homepage.
  2. Click on the Brand Kit tab.
  3. In the Color Palettes module, hover over the color you want to remove.
  4. A small ‘x’ will appear on its top right-hand corner. Click on x to delete the color.
